The Importance of Long-Term Strategic Vision

The Osborn is a not-for-profit senior living organization located in Rye, N.Y., which offers homes and services in residential, assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing. The Osborn retained The Asbury Group Integrated Technologies as a partner to provide assistance in defining and achieving a long-term Strategic IT Vision. This assistance included a Technology Audit, development of a Strategic Plan for hardware and software and infrastructure development in support of The Osborn’s strategic information technology goals. Following that, the Osborn engaged TAG IT to assist with the project management, training and process development for the implementation of a comprehensive financial and electronic health record system, HealthMEDX Vision, at all facilities.

 

Audit and Strategic Planning
  • Conducted hardware, software and IT infrastructure audit
  • Developed a multi-year plan that supports the Osborn goals of continuous improvement, enhancements to on-campus and off-campus services, strategic business development and technology deployment
  • Analyzed, documented and delivered the following analyses and assessments:
    • Technology Usage Assessment
    • Network Analysis
    • IT Service Delivery Assessment
    • Strengths, Limitations, Opportunities, Threats Assessment
  • Analyzed, documented and delivered a multi-year budget plan in support of IT goals and provided return-on-investment, ROI, analysis in support of the plan
HealthMEDX Vision Implementation
  • Provided project management assistance with project planning, resource management, vendor relations, issue tracking, project schedule, budget and deliverables tracking
  • Provided consulting and training services for system usage recommendations, system configuration, process development, management training and comprehensive end-user training
  • Provided consulting services that included clinical and financial systems analysis and specific recommendations to optimize efficiency in both the conversion to and usage of the newly implemented systems
  • Managed project to a phased rollout to minimize staff impact and control risk
  • Provided collaborative analysis of reporting needs; developed and delivered detailed custom reports; integrated custom reports into the Vision application menus
  • Provided systems integration support for data exchange with third-party applications such as Omnicare pharmacy integration
  • Migrated clinical information from legacy system
  • Help Desk system design and support assistance
